Educators from the Central Community School District in Iowa know that students with reading deficits will fall behind in their general education classrooms if they cannot effectively access grade-level curriculum. This led to the district beginning a trial of uPAR, the online tool for assessing the effectiveness of reading accommodations and learn how to best support their students’ individual reading goals. The data from uPAR has led to shift with accommodations in the district, which can lead to more student proficiency with text readers before they arrive in high school and more students will be aware of what they are capable of knowing and learning.
