Our Tech Support Team is here to answer some of the questions that have come up about how our SOLO products work with the latest Apple and Windows updates…
The latest Apple Mavericks OS 10.9 release has brought with it an inability to launch Read:OutLoud, Draft:Builder, and Write:OutLoud on machines that have installed that version of Mavericks. The good news is that we have developed an update that corrects this issue! New install files are available to all current SOLO 6+, Read:OutLoud 6.5, Draft:Builder 6.5, and Write:OutLoud 6.5 license holders for both single installation and/or .mpkg for mass installs to be pushed over the network for a quick resolution. This update can be obtained by completing an installer request form.
Have Co:Writer 7? Great news — you are all set!
For license holders of versions 220.127.116.11 and earlier, you must upgrade to the latest versions of the products in order for them to work with the new Mavericks OS. By running the older software versions with the latest Mavericks OS, you may experience the following issue:
- Upon system startup or launching Read:OutLoud, Write:OutLoud, or Draft:Builder, the error message “Unable to find the SOLO application” appears.
Windows 8 Updates
For license holders of versions 18.104.22.168 and earlier, you must upgrade to the latest 6.5 versions of the products in order for them to work with the new Windows OS. By running the older software versions with the latest Windows 8.x, you may experience the following issue:
- Attempting to launch Read:OutLoud, Write:OutLoud, or Draft:Builder will cause these programs to crash due to incompatibility issues with Acapela voices.
